Recipi - Party Rental Marketing

Recipi is changing the event rental industry.

Its been another great year for the event rental industry. While the world continues to figure out how to move forward from the pandemic, the event rental industry has yet again proven to be a durable, strong, recession-proof (and even pandemic proof) sector. While indoor events took a hit, the world moved outdoors. Backyard weddings & parties, outdoor corporate get-togethers, and social events held strong in 2020 and 2021. Restaurants and schools rented tents maximize their safe outdoor space with long-term rentals. Jim Mariano (President of Recipi), owner of Backyard Tent Rental in Boston reported his best two seasons, despite missing a large chunk of 2020 while the US was in lock-down in April, May and into June. CBS News even featured him in a national news story about the tent rental industry’s strength during the pandemic.

Recipi isn’t a franchise or a marketing agency. We are part of the new “learning economy,” where entrepreneurs pay to get the knowledge, guidance, and expertise to start their own business without giving a percent of revenue or adhering to rigid rules of a franchise.

One reason why the event rental space has remained strong is because it is a large network of small, independent businesses. There is no large player that dominates the space and the industry really can’t be “Amazon-ed.” At Recipi, our goal is to help hungry entrepreneurs and rental business owners with websites that drive business using strong SEO (search engine optimization), and good old fashioned human touch. We hand craft each website we build, rather than offering cookie-cutter, automated websites. We help our customers with digital marketing to answer the demand for rentals in their area. We provide guidance on how to grow quickly with online reviews, social media, and local networking. We help match budget with equipment and income expectations. Lastly, we offer guidance and support for our customers to avoid making those early, costly mistakes that most rental businesses make.

Our passion is to help people create profitable businesses that they can be proud of. Whether its going to be a side-job, or a full-time venture, we carefully walk our customers through the process of starting and growing a rental business. Here are just a few success stories from the past two years:

  • Ashland Party Rental. Despite launching right as the pandemic hit, Ashland Party Rental become profitable in year one, and did over $100k in rentals in year two with zero prior rental experience. This husband and wife team have quickly found their own path and they are preparing for a very busy 2022 rental season.

  • 781 Tents. When owner John Papagni wanted to start a side business in addition to his very successful career in tech he turned to Recipi. By June of year one he had paid off his initial investment and now has a $40-60k side business that he enjoys.

  • Yellowhammer Event Rentals. Michael from Tuscaloosa Alabama is now in year two and has hit his stride. He is offering tent packages and is now doing larger community events and providing tailgating packages for Alabama football games. Michael has exceeded his revenue goals for year two and is growing his business quickly.

  • Cape Cod Wedding Arch. Danka is a young woman on Cape Cod who offers wedding arches and wedding ceremony rentals. She told us “I love what I do. I’m so happy with my decision.” Danka sets up beautiful wedding arches and chuppahs on the beach, at wedding venues, and in backyards for weddings and will make over $20k on the weekends from April - October. By her own estimates, she is making over $50/hr when she does an event.

  • Granite State Rental. Matt and Amber work together as a husband and wife team to offer rentals to New Hampshire. They launched in August of 2021 and in just 4 months they have already had over 80 inquiries for their services. They are quickly scaling up and adding new rental items and services.

We want to re-ignite the entreprenurial spark that helped build America. We want to give our customers financial freedom, pride in ownership, or just some extra income to help pay the bills. We want to keep the rental industry filled with small, vibrant, local businesses. Most of all, we want YOU. We want to talk to you about your plans. We want to help you create a plan and execute. We want you to be a successful rental business owner.
